Founder Linda Cotter and her sister, Kelley See, saw the need for this type of business as they went through this difficult process with their own parents in 2007. As their parents, at an advanced age and in failing health, were faced with the need to downsize and relocate, it was left to the sisters to handle the entire transition.
Linda Cotter has a wide range of experiences to draw on in operating this business. She has a bachelor’s degree from UNL and has worked as a social worker, an interior designer, and an educator. She also owned and operated an art store in Lincoln for five years. Her many years as a homemaker raising four children and caring for her elderly parents add to her expertise in assisting people in transitioning to new living situations.
Susan Reese lived and worked in Topeka, Kansas until moving to Lincoln in 2002. In Topeka, she attended Washburn University and worked for Westar Energy for 22 years, where she helped to organize the shareholder services department, and especially enjoyed helping the elderly shareholders and retirees. She brings to Changing Spaces organizational and customer service skills, determination to get the job done, and a desire to help others. Susan’s favorite part of being a senior move manager is getting to know the wonderful clients that Changing Spaces assists.
Jeannine Bryant is originally from North Dakota, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and a Master of Arts degree from UNL. She has been actively involved in the downsizing and relocation processes of her father, grandparents and other relatives throughout her life. She keenly understands the importance of “place” and the emotions tied to it, as well as the difficulty sometimes associated with leaving one’s home. Hearing client’s stories and memories associated with their home is one of her favorite parts of working with Changing Spaces. She is also a nut for organizing, and loves bringing order to client’s new homes.
Linda, Susan and Jeannine are proud to be part of NASMM’s “Circle of Service.” This indicates that Changing Spaces SRS has been providing high-quality moving assistance to seniors for over five years.
